Chanukah Celebration for Sderot Victims of Kassam Rocket Attacks

Operation Embrace organized a Chanukah event celebrating the light and the strength of people who have been injured physically and/or experiencing trauma from Kassam rocket attacks.  Three hundred and fifty people from Sderot and the surrounding area attended the program.  This was an evening of solidarity that  was jointly sponsored by Operation Embrace, Bituach Leumi (Israel's National Insurance Agency) and the Municipality of Sderot. 

A special concert was given by the famous Israeli singer, Etty Ankri.  There was also a special childrens program.  For many, this was the first time families were able to sit at a table together because of the constant terror alert that they live with.  Bus transportation was provided and buses departed from different locations near Sderot.  The celebration took place 10 minutes outside of Sderot at an event hall located at kibbutz Bror Hayil.  Twenty people from Ra’anana came to volunteer with facepainting, card games, photography and videography.  With tears in their eyes, the people of Sderot thanked Operation Embrace and said:  “thank you for not forgetting about us.”
