Three years ago, Ruti was walking her 3 year old son to nursery school when a Kassam rocket landed near them, killing her son and injured her so badly that she lost a leg as a result of the attack.  Ruti has been working hard to keep a positive attitude and has even returned to school to learn new skills.  Recently, a Kassam rocket fell on the apartment above hers.  The debris from the attack fell on Ruti’s home and yard, destroying the memorial that Ruti made for her son.  Ruti has been thrown back into severe depression.  Operation Embrace has provided her with a week’s hotel accommodations as well as financial assistance.  The photograph to the left is a picture of Ruti’s deceased little boy that hangs above her bed.
