Ortal is 7 months pregnant (this is her first pregnancy).  While running from a Kassam rocket attack, she broke her leg and was hospitalized for several days at Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon, the closest hospital to Sderot.  Operation Embrace has provided Ortal and her husband with hotel accommodations in neighboring cities to Sderot (including a week in Eilat), in order to give these new parents some reprieve from their personal trauma.  In addition, OE has provided them with a DVD portable machine so that Ortal can stay busy.  Ortal lives on the fourth floor in a building where there is no elevator and the only bomb shelter is located on the ground floor.  Her husband David attempts to carry Ortal down four flights of stairs to the shelter whenever there is a code red alarm signifying that a Kassam will fall in 15 seconds, but they usually do not make it to the shelter in time.
