- Question: How is Operation Embrace (OE) helping victims deal with the current
crises and the suffering caused by daily barrage of Hezbollah rockets?
Answer: Operation Embrace is providing direct financial assistance for immediate
emergency needs. OE has a volunteer organization and a network of social workers
on the ground in Israel coordinating the logistics of purchasing and delivering
necessary items to bomb shelters all over the north. Our volunteers are delivering
food, medicine, toys and other necessities to Israelis living in bomb shelters.
In addition, these OE volunteers are providing transportation to move Israelis
in the north to safety in southern parts of the country. Homes and businesses
have been destroyed and there are approximately one million people who are
either living in bomb shelters or who have been relocated to other parts of
the country.
- Question: How does Operation Embrace help the injured with long term needs?
Answer: We must remain committed to the victims of
the current crisis and not forget them when this war is over. Too often, we
respond to an emergency and then forget the need for continued support. The
psychological damage of terror strikes and of this recent crisis to terror
victims and their families will be felt for years to come. In response, OE
is funding programs and planning ahead to provide assistance to victims and
their families. By providing direct financial support for medical, therapeutic,
and rehabilitative needs beyond governmental help, our hope is to provide survivors
of terror with a brighter future and the tools to help them rebuild their lives.
In addition, Operation Embrace has also recognized the importance of counseling
by funding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Treatment Centers (PTSD) in various
hospitals throughout Israel.
