Operation Embrace 11th Annual Dinner

Operation Embrace held its 11th Annual Event on December 3, 2013.  ”This was the most moving and beautiful event” were the words spoken by attendees.  Sally Oren, was the honoree, while husband Ambassador Michael Oren was the guest speaker.  Ambassador Oren gave a warm and personal tribute to his wife.  Sally shared the painful memories of when sister Joanie was killed in a Jerusalem bus bombing in 1995.  At the event, OE officially named the adult therapeutic excursions at Rambam Hospital in memory of Joan (Metayaleem Im Joanie).

OE’s 2013 volunteers of the year were introduced by Jonny Charnoff.  Jonny suggested that he won “the triple crown” as he had the privilege to speak about three generations of volunteers, his mother-in-law, Carole Ashendorf, his wife, Lisa and his daughter Miriam.  All three women inspired the attendees with their volunteerism for Operation Embrace.
